Welcome

The Mindfulness Center for Healthy Living, located in Little Rock, Arkansas, is dedicating to providing opportunities for self-discovery, self-development, and healing.  Building on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts, the Center teaches mindfulness through traditional 8-week MBSR programs, graduate programs, presentations,  workshops, retreats, and private individual and couples Mindfulness Training.

8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Programs September 27 & 29, 2008

The 8-week MBSR course trains individuals in a class-like setting in
the daily discipline of mindfulness and its application to everyday
life.  Participants learn relaxation, meditation and gentle yoga
techniques which assist us in being more aware of the present moment,
allowing us to make conscious choices and live a more fulfilled life.

The next 8-week courses begin Sept 27 and Sept 29, 2008. Choose from Monday afternoon (2-4:30), Monday evening (6-8:30) or Sat morning (9-11:30) classes. Click link below for more info.

Workshops, Retreats, Book Study Groups Weekly Mediation

We offer numerous opportunities for learning about stress reduction techniques and living a more mindful and meaningful life. We offer 1/2 day and all-day workshops, weekend retreats, Deepening Your Practice courses, book study groups, and a free weekly meditation.

  • Mindfulness and Presence - Saturday, August 2, 9-3 in Little Rock
  • Mindfulness & Monkey Mind - Tuesday, August 5, 9-3 in Hot Springs
  • Mindfulness and Independent Living - Friday, Sept. 5, 9-3:30 in El Dorado
  • Mindfully Healing from Cancer - Saturday, Sept. 13, 9-3 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock
  • Mindfulness for Teens & Young Adults - coming this Fall
  • The Places That Scare You: A Guide to Fearlessness in Difficult Times by Pema Chodron will be our guide for the next book study groups. We will have a morning and an early evening book group. Stay tuned for more info.

Private and Couples Mindfulness Training

Dr. Sandra Pope offers private classes for individuals or couples interested in learning stress reduction techniques or deepening their mindfulness practice, and who wish to have the course tailored to meet their time constraints, interests, and goals. These classes cover the same mindfulness practices and applications as are learned during the 8-week course or in the graduate meditation courses.
